As India prepare to take on England in the third Test of the five-match series at Lord’s, a legendary figure of the sport stole the spotlight ahead of play. Sachin Tendulkar, widely regarded as one of the greatest cricketers of all time, was honoured in a special ceremony at the iconic venue.

He is also set to ring the five-minute bell at Lord's. In a moment that quickly went viral on social media, Tendulkar was seen unveiling a portrait of himself at the MCC Museum and posing alongside it. The portrait, drawn by artist Stuart Pearson, captures the elegance and class of the Indian cricket icon. This is the second portrait of the legendary figure at Lord's. Dressed in a sharp brown suit, Tendulkar appeared delighted to inaugurate the piece at a venue steeped in cricketing heritage. The MCC Museum is located within Lord’s Cricket Ground in St John’s Wood, London and is one of the oldest sporting museums in the world.

Adding further significance to the day, Tendulkar is also set to ring the five-minute bell at the Lord’s Pavilion — a tradition that signals the imminent start of play. Despite his towering legacy in the game, this is the first time the Master Blaster will participate in the ritual.

The bell, positioned outside the Bowlers’ Bar, has been rung by numerous cricketing legends, officials, and dignitaries since the tradition began in 2007.
