 BCCI issues latest injury update on Rishabh Pant — 'He is receiving treatment'

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has issued a latest update on Rishabh Pant's injury, who was forced to leave the field with an injury on the opening day of the Lord’s Test against England.Pant was hurt by Bumrah’s inswinger which hooped crazily, as wicketkeeper leapt to his left to retrieve a rare errant delivery from the quick bowler, conceding two byes after only managing to get fingertips to it.

"Team India vice-captain Rishabh Pant got hit on his left index finger," BCCI said in a statement. "He is receiving treatment at the moment and under the supervision of the medical team.

"Dhruv Jurel is currently keeping wickets in Rishabh's absence."Earlier, India kept England’s run rate in check but Joe Root and Ollie Pope chugged along to take the hosts to 153 for two at tea on day one of the Lord’s Test.
