This exam is a crucial step for engineers aspiring to join various government services, including the Indian Railway Service, Indian Ordnance Factory Service, and other central engineering services.The Engineering Services (Main) Examination, also known as UPSC ESE Mains, will be conducted on August 10, 2025, Sunday. The exam will be held in two separate shifts, covering discipline-specific papers for Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, and Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering.
Each paper will be of three hours duration and will carry a total of 300 marks.Examination schedule and paper detailsThe first paper, Discipline Specific Paper-I, is scheduled from 9:00 A.M. to 12:00 Noon. It will cover subjects related to the candidate’s respective engineering branch in a conventional written format. The second paper, Discipline Specific Paper-II, will take place from 2:30 P.M. to 5:30 P.M. and will follow the same format and duration as the first paper.
