UPSC announces interview schedule for Combined Geo-Scientist Examination 2024; download here

NEW DELHI: The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has officially released the interview schedule for the Combined Geo-Scientist (Main) Examination, 2024. Following the declaration of the results on 14th August 2024, the Commission has confirmed that the Personality Tests (Interviews) for the successful candidates will commence on 9th December 2024.
Candidates who have qualified the written examination can expect their e-Summon Letters to be made available shortly. These letters, which are essential for attending the Personality Test, can be downloaded from the official UPSC website at www.upsc.gov.in and www.upsconline.nic.in. It is important to note that candidates will not be allowed to change the scheduled date or time of their Personality Test once it has been allocated, as requests for rescheduling are typically not entertained by the Commission.
Travel Allowance Reimbursement for Outstation Candidates
The UPSC has also announced provisions for reimbursing travel expenses for outstation candidates attending the interview. As per the guidelines, candidates travelling by rail will be eligible for reimbursement of second-class or sleeper-class train fare. This will be applicable regardless of the class of travel chosen by the candidate, in line with the Supplementary Rules outlined by the Commission.

To claim travel reimbursement, candidates must submit hard copies of both the onward and return journey tickets, along with the prescribed Travel Allowance (TA) claim form. The TA claim forms are available for download on the UPSC website.
Strict Adherence to Travel Guidelines
Candidates are urged to strictly follow the travel guidelines outlined by the UPSC when making arrangements for their journey to the Personality Test. Any deviation from the prescribed travel conditions may result in the disqualification of the TA claim. The UPSC has emphasised that only those candidates who adhere to the prescribed travel norms will be eligible for reimbursement.

The Personality Test schedule has been specifically set for candidates from various disciplines, including Geologist, Geologist & Hydrogeology, Geophysicist/Geophysics, and Chemist/Chemical, as part of the Combined Geo-Scientist Examination 2024.
