Years ago, Govinda made a claim which left everyone shocked. He had said he was offered a role in James Cameron’s 'Avatar'. Not only that, he also said he was the one who suggested the film’s now-iconic title.
According to the actor, he was aware the film would take seven years to complete and ultimately turned it down for health reasons. The 'Hero No 1' actor had said during a chat with 'Aap Ki Adalat', “I have left an offer of Rs 21.5 crore, and I remember this because it was very painful leaving it. I have given the film’s title – Avatar. James told me the hero in the film was handicapped, so I said I am not doing the film. He offered me Rs 18 crore for it and said I would be required to shoot for 410 days.
I said that is okay, but if I paint my body, I will be in the hospital.
”He revealed he rejected the film due to health reasons. He said, “Our body is the only instrument we have… at times, some things appear very appealing professionally, but you also have to see their effects on your body.”

Now Govinda's wife, Sunita Ahuja who is known to always be candid and quite bold in her confessions has reacted to it. She was asked if it's true that Govinda was offered 'Avatar' by Cameron.
She said in an interview with Uorfi Javed, "Arre yaar mujhe nahi pata kab offer hui. 40 saal toh mujhe hogaye Govinda ke saath. Avatar ka director, producer kab aaya mujhe nahi maalum."She added, “Huyi bhi hai ke nahi I don’t know. Main jhooth nahi bolti na main chugli karungi idhar naa main kisika side lungi. Main jhooth ka saath nahi dungi." Sunita was also asked if Govinda would ever join a reality show like 'The Traitors'. She said, “Govinda pehle picture karle bahut kaafi hai. Hum wait kar rahe hai ke picture kab karega woh,” she said, hinting that fans are already waiting long enough for his next film—reality TV is not even on the radar.
