Collect these materials

Take 1 saree, any fabric, and a sewing machine. You will also need a pair of good scissors, chalk, measuring tape, and an elastic waistband.

Choose the colour or print of your saree, but beware of opting for a heavy saree if you wish to make a Western outfit from it.

Fold the saree into four layers flat on the floor and use a measuring tape to create a semicircle from a downward position with your chalk.

Mark the positioning of your skirt, and with an elastic waistband and sewing machine, sew the waist section. Your skirt will be all ready.
