RRB technician recruitment 2025: The Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) has officially announced the commencement of its technician recruitment drive for the 2025–26 cycle, inviting applications for 6,180 vacancies across India.

The online registration process will begin on June 28, 2025, and continue until July 28, 2025, closing at 11:59 PM. Interested candidates must submit their applications through the official recruitment portal at https://www.rrbapply.gov.in.This recruitment initiative is aimed at strengthening the Indian Railways’ technical workforce by filling vacancies in multiple trades. Of the total posts, 180 are for Technician Grade 1 Signal positions, while the remaining 6,000 are for Technician Grade 3 roles.

The selection process will involve a Computer-Based Test (CBT), followed by document verification and a medical fitness test.Post-wise breakdown and eligibility criteriaFor the Technician Grade 1 Signal post, candidates must hold a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Physics, Electronics, Computer Science, Information Technology, or Instrumentation. Alternatively, a Diploma or Degree in Engineering in relevant disciplines is also accepted.

The age limit for these positions is between 18 and 33 years as of July 1, 2025.For the Technician Grade 3 post, candidates are required to have passed Class 10 (SSLC/Matriculation) and must also have completed an ITI or Apprenticeship in specific trades such as Foundryman, Moulder, Pattern Maker, or Forger and Heat Treater. The eligible age range for this category is 18 to 30 years. Government-mandated age relaxations apply to reserved categories.Salary structure and application feesThe Technician Grade 1 Signal role falls under Pay Level 5 with an initial monthly salary of Rs 29,200, while the Technician Grade 3 post is in Pay Level 2, offering Rs 19,900 per month. Additional allowances and benefits will be provided as per the 7th Central Pay Commission (CPC) guidelines.The application fee is Rs 250 for candidates from SC/ST, Ex-servicemen, Persons with Disabilities (PwD), Women, Transgender individuals, Minorities, and the Economically Backward Class.

This amount is fully refundable upon appearing for the CBT. For all other categories, the fee is Rs 500, of which Rs 400 will be refunded post CBT attendance.
