 'Maatha kharab ho gaya, yaar!'

A few days ago, Paresh Rawal mentioned in an interview that Akshay Kumar isn't his friend, he's just his colleague. This came as a huge shock to people as Akshay and Paresh Rawal share a great bond and have been a part of many movies. Their association goes back to the 90s where they even did movies like 'Mohra' together. Over the years, their off-screen and on-screen bond has been appreciated in movies like the iconic 'Hera Pheri' franchise, 'Awara Pagal Deewana' and more. Which is why, Paresh's recent comment led to people asking him if something is wrong. For those not in the know, Rawal had responded to being asked about being Akshay Kumar's friend. He had said, "Film industry mein colleague hote hain, theatre mein dost hote hain, aur school mein jigar jaan dost hote hain. But film ke andar colleague hote hain."Now he has clarified about his statement in another interview. He said during a chat with Bollywood Hungama, "Maatha kharab ho gaya, yaar! I simply said that he’s a colleague. When you say ‘friend’, it means those whom you meet 5-6 times a month and whom you talk to several times a week. Moreover, neither Akshay nor I are social. So, there’s no question of us bumping into any party. Hence, I called him a colleague. People are asking ‘Kya ho gaya?’. Arre bhai, kuch nahin hua.”Further talking about Akshay he said, "He’s a cool guy. Akshay and I have worked in at least 15-20 movies together. He’s a great guy to be friends with.”

He added, "I’ll be more than careful now. I’ll now spell out everything, in black and white. People just take things out of context. It’s very tiring to clarify.”Akshay and Paresh Rawal will be seen next in Priyadarshan's 'Bhoot Bangla' and also 'Hera Pheri 3'.
