Moushumi Chatterjee who is known for movies like 'Balika Badhu', 'Anuraag', 'Roti Kapda Aur Makaan' among others is married to Jayanta Mukherjee. The actress was married at a young age of 15 years. The couple had two daughters but unfortunately her daughter Payal passed away. In a recent interview she has opened up on the impact this loss had on her and her husband.According to an old report in India Today, the actress had filed a petition in

Bombay High Court

in 2018 to be appointed as Payal's guardian after she was married to Dicky Sinha. This was because Dicky and Payal's in-laws were neglecting her medical bills. and prevented her from meeting her daughter when she was ill. She revealed in a latest interview with Nayandeep Rakshit, "I went to the hospital when she was no more. She was kept in a morgue because the hospital’s bill wasn’t paid. I took all that nonsense. You learn from these things how many types of people are on this earth.”She further added, "I don’t think my husband has completely gotten over Payal’s death. I am also not over it. This vacuum will be there throughout our lives." The actress described the experience as a torture as she couldn't meet her daughter earlier and she and her husband were humiliated by her in-laws.“We can’t get over this grief. When a child dies, nobody can get over that. Payal was very motherly to Megha because they had an eight-year age gap." Further talking about her husband's state, she added, "Sometimes he would get up in the night howling Payal’s name. These things you can’t explain with words.”She had to develop strength to deal with this for the sake of the family. “I tell them, ‘It has happened; you can’t do anything about it.’ I ask them to forget it,” she said.
