Global icon Priyanka Chopra Jonas is riding high on the success of her Hollywood action-comedy ‘Heads of State,’ but her heart still beats for Bollywood. The actor opened up about her longing for Hindi films and her excitement about returning to Indian cinema with SS Rajamouli’s upcoming epic, ‘SSMB29.

“I Miss Hindi Movies, and I Miss India So Much”
In a recent interview with India Today, while promoting ‘Heads of State,’ Priyanka candidly shared, “I miss Hindi movies, and I miss India so much.” She added that she’s thrilled to be working in India again, as “I’m working in India this year, and I’m really excited about that.”
What we know about ‘SSMB29’
It is directed by SS Rajamouli, and the film stars Mahesh Babu in the lead. It’s expected to be an action-adventure drama in the spirit of Indiana Jones, as confirmed by Rajamouli’s father and veteran writer Vijayendra Prasad.
Further, Rajamouli conducted a location recce in Kenya in 2024, suggesting parts of the film will be shot there. The shoot was initially slated for mid-2024 but faced delays due to extended pre-production.At a special screening of ‘RRR’ in Japan, Rajamouli teased:“His name is Mahesh Babu; he is a Telugu actor… He is very handsome. Hopefully, we finish the film a little bit fast, and during the release, I will bring him here, and I’ll introduce him to you.
I’m sure you will love him as well.”
What About ‘Jee Le Zaraa’?
Priyanka was also set to star alongside Katrina Kaif and Alia Bhatt in Farhan Akhtar’s road-trip film ’Jee Le Zaraa. However, the project remains in limbo. In February, Farhan told The Hindu that “The astronomy of it is all messed up: my rahu is in my ketu (laughs). Unfortunately, it will take more time. I am optimistic that it will happen when it has to happen. There is a time for everything. I don’t want to stress out over this one project.
”
