Kartik Aaryan
is all set to star in the
Kabir Khan
directorial 'Chandu Champion'. Before the film's release, the actor opened up about his struggles in his early days in the industry.
When asked about his journey, Kartik told NDTV that he faced many rejections before landing his first film. Before
'Sonu Ki Titu Ki Sweety'
came along, he went through difficult times trying to sustain himself in Mumbai.
He didn't have enough money and had to borrow from others to get by.
During this challenging period, Kartik often felt low but never thought about giving up on acting. He felt sad and worried about not having films. He was in a very bad phase in life, but everything changed when 'Sonu Ki Titu Ki Sweety' came and became a big hit. This success felt like a relaunch for him.
In the same interview, Kartik shared that he has a 'thing' for buying luxury cars. When asked if his parents are involved in maintaining his finances, "My parents are very much involved in maintaining my finances. They are scared that if one film doesn't work, what will happen? Everything is temporary in this industry."
Furthermore, he also opened up about his initial days in the industry, "When I used to go to award shows, I would take ride from somebody. I made it a point that when I'll have money, I'll buy cars. The first car I bought was a third-hand. Perhaps for some rebellious nature, then I keep on buying cars. It has become a thing for me. But to be very honest, it's not a great investment. But it's nice to have your dream cars and dream house. Next I'll get my dream house built and hopefully I'll do that."
'Chandu Champion' marks the first collaboration between Kabir Khan and Kartik Aaryan. The film is set to release on June 14, 2024.
