'Homebound' star Janhvi Kapoor stuns in a 1957 haute couture dress at the Cannes Film Festival 2025

Acing the style game at the Cannes Film Festival 2025, Janhvi Kapoor had a perfectly stunning ‘IT Girl’ moment in a haute couture dress at the press event of her film ‘Homebound,’ which received a 9-minute standing ovation from the audience.

Janhvi Kapoor in haute couture dress

Following the royally chic look at the red carpet with the designs by Anamika Khanna and Tarun Tahiliani, Kapoor wore a 1957 Dior haute couture black slub silk dress. Channelling the inner elegance and an old-Hollywood aura, Janhvi wore a figure-fit dress, along with a pair of long, hand gloves. With a silver brooch at the middle of the dress, the old-school bun, and minimalistic jewellery of diamond-studded earrings, the 28-year-old gave the sophisticated ‘50s look like never before.

The non-minimalistic makeup added all the drama to complete the ensemble. With the exquisite stroke of eyeliner and putting on the prettiest shade of lip gloss, Janhvi knows how to turn heads.

'Homebound' receives a laud

Meanwhile, Filmmaker Neeraj Ghaywan’s second feature film, ‘Homebound,’ received a heartwarming 9-minute standing ovation at the Cannes Film Festival 2025. The film’s world premiere was screened at the Un Certain Regard segment at the Debussy Theatre.

The premiere of Homebound at the 78th edition of the Cannes Film Festival was attended by the director Neeraj Ghaywan and the star cast, including Janhvi Kapoor, Ishaan Khatter, and Vishal Jethwa, along with the producer Karan Johar and his two peers, Apporva Mehta and Somen Mishra. In a video shared by Karam Johar’s Dharma Productions on X, the caption reads, “9 minutes of pure love & applause! Team Homebound receiving all the appreciation at @Festival_Cannes!” Johar and Ghaywan were emotionally embracing each other after breaking down over the overwhelming response to the film. Kapoor and Khatter seemed teary-eyed as the audience applauded the film.
