Abhishek and Jaya Bachchan step out for family dinner

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, a Cannes veteran of over two decades, made a stunning appearance at the 2025 Cannes Film Festival ahead of the premiere of Oliver Hermanus’ historical drama The History of Sound, starring Paul Mescal and Josh O’Connor. Meanwhile, back in Mumbai, Aishwarya’s husband Abhishek Bachchan and mother-in-law Jaya Bachchan were spotted stepping out for a quiet family dinner on Wednesday night. The two were seen exiting a restaurant along with actress Diana Penty.

Staying true to her elegant style, Aishwarya opted for a traditional Indian ensemble, an ivory handloom Banarasi saree designed by Manish Malhotra. The embroidered saree featured a dramatic lace train and a long ‘pallu’, paired with a layered ruby necklace and vermillion in her hair parting.

Videos circulating on social media show the actress waving warmly and smiling at fans, exuding grace as she walked the red carpet. The 51-year-old was joined in France by her daughter Aaradhya, who has accompanied her mother to Cannes several times in recent years. The duo received a warm welcome upon landing, with clips of their arrival going viral online.

Aishwarya first attended Cannes in 2002 for the premiere of Devdas, alongside Shah Rukh Khan and Sanjay Leela Bhansali. She later became the first Indian actress to serve on the Cannes jury and has since continued to deliver some of the most iconic red carpet looks.
