Amidst all the hype and anticipation surrounding the release of the next Shah Rukh Khan starrer 'Dunki', rumours are rife that another big-ticket film may just bow out of a box office showdown over the Christmas Weekend.
Rumours are rife that the Prabhas starrer 'Salaar' which is slated to hit screens on December 22, will postpone its release to 2024. Should the makers decide to postpone its release, it will avert its upcoming clash with Shah Rukh's 'Dunki' which is tipped to be the actor's third big blockbuster of the year.
While Shah Rukh has two back-to-back box office blockbusters with 'Pathaan' and 'Jawan' earning over Rs 1000 crore each, Prabhas on the other hand, has had two back-to-back failures with Radhe Shyam and Adipurush missing the mark at the ticket windows.

'Salaar' was initially set to hit screens on September 28, but due to "unforeseen circumstances", the makers decided to delay the release to December.
If the rumours turn out to be true, then Prabhas may just look forward to begin 2024 on a high with two big film releases. The actor's sci-fi film 'Kalki 2898 AD' is currently set for a January 2024 release. The film is one of the highly anticipated movies of the year, featuring an ensemble cast including

Deepika Padukone, Kamal Haasan and Amitabh Bachchan.

Meanwhile, Shah Rukh on his birthday shared his intentions of making families come together in cinemas to watch his drama 'Dunki' on Christmas. "Not everyone attends a Christmas party with friends. Some stay at home or do community viewing (of films). The return of community viewing is very important for Hindi cinema," he said at his birthday event and added, "You have come here because what’s common with all of you is your love for me. Similarly, the love for films should be common. People should come to the theatres and enjoy themselves with somebody else’s family too… Where you laugh and cry together. With ‘Dunki’ too, I hope you do the same."

'Dunki' also stars Taapsee Pannu, Vicky Kaushal, Boman Irani, Vikram Kochhar and Anil Grover.
