After the news of Matthew Perry's shocking demise on Saturday, fans expressed concern about the actor's pooch named Alfred.
Recent reports indicated that 'Friends' co-star Lisa Kudrow would be adopting the mutt as she too has dogs of her own. However, new reports indicate that these rumours are far from the truth.
It has been confirmed by People that Perry did not own a dog at the time of his passing, hence leaving no cause for concern.

Following his separation in June 2021, Alfred seemingly moved in with Hurwitz and became a regular presence on her Instagram handle. In a heartfelt post in September, she shared her affection for the dog through a series of photos, stating, "Alfred is three. He is very annoying a lot of the time, but he is truly the most loving potato. He entered my life during some dark depression, and he helped get me far away from that. He is also cute as all heck. Cheers to you, Alfredo #adoptdontshop."

On Monday, Molly paid tribute to Matthew in a lengthy Instagram post in which she expressed that no one had "a more profound impact" on her adult life than Perry.

Kudrow, along with her fellow Friends cast members - Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Matt LeBlanc, and David Schwimmer, also issued a joint statement to PEOPLE saying, "We are all so utterly devastated by the loss of Matthew. We were more than just castmates. We are a family," their statement read. "There is so much to say, but right now we're going to take a moment to grieve and process this unfathomable loss."
The statement continued, "In time we will say more, as and when we are able. For now, our thoughts and our love are with Matty's family, his friends, and everyone who loved him around the world."

The tragic news of Matthew Perry's passing was confirmed through an exclusive statement from the late actor's family. The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner's Office has indicated that an autopsy has been completed, but the results were 'deferred' as a toxicology report is still pending.
