It's time to put on your dancing shoes and get groovy!
With the clock ticking down to the release of the film '
The Archies
', the makers on Friday gave fans a peppy dance tune for the weekend titled 'Va Va Voom.' Set against the backdrop of a soiree, the music video celebrates the timeless rock 'n roll tunes and features the film's characters Dot (Aditi),
Agastya Nanda
, Khushi Kapoor, Mihir Ahuja, Suhana Khan, Vedang Raina, and Yuvraj Menda in the spotlight.
The clip begins with Agastya taking centre stage and strumming his guitar as he sings the romantic song with Suhana and Khushi looking on. Besides leaving fans with a feeling of nostalgia, Agastya's moves on stage had fans comparing him to Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan. Many took to the comments section to praise the hunk and declare him as their "crush". Others could not shake off the feeling that he gave off major SRK romantic hero vibes.
Sharing the catchy, foot-tapping retro track online, director Zoya Akhtar, expressed her excitement and explained the meaning behind the title saying, "Va Va Voom is a classic Archie comic term. It's a compliment to describe a girl he likes, a way of saying she is cool."
The song composed by Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy, is said to be a part of the film's musical narrative and will take viewers back in time to the 60s rock 'n' roll era.
Speaking about creating the song, Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy, shared, "We wanted to create a dance number that would immediately compel one to hit the dance floor. 'Va Va Voom' transports you back to the moody rock and roll era of the 1960s. We have effectively tried to capture the essence of that era and look forward to seeing the audience's response to the song."
While the video is a treat to watch, director Zoya admitted that it was "gruelling" but the actors made sure to have a blast filming the peppy routine.
The song has been crooned by Tejas Menon with lyrics by Javed Akhtar.
'The Archies' is set for its digital release on Netflix on December 7.
