Brad Pitt's high-octane film meets mixed reactions - Check it out

Watching Brad Pitt in an action film? A delight for many, and even better when he drives the sports cars at an unthinkable amount of speed. The ‘F1’ film is about to hit the theatres on June 27 in India, but after it was released in North America on June 25, some of the viewers shared their experiences on X.

Many appreciated the high-octane film, but others were underwhelmed, calling it unrealistic and not-that-deep.

The reviews on X

Calling ‘F1’ an absolute winner, one user wrote, “F1 is a damn good sports movie. While the script features every single cliché imaginable and the film as a whole is a bit overly long, Brad Pitt’s charismatic performance proves that he, just like Tom Cruise, is a true movie star. Joseph Kosinski directs the hell out of this thing with some of the most impressive racing scenes I’ve ever seen on the big screen.

I had my doubts about this one but F1 is definitely a winner.”

Another F1 fan called it a summer blockbuster: “#F1TheMovie is one hell of a ride! It’s everything you want in a summer blockbuster & more. Pitt & Idris are ELECTRIC together with Badem & Condon also fantastic in supporting roles. The IMAX cinematography is OUTSTANDING & wildly IMMERSIVE. Great sound design & score. Loved it!”

A third fan thought the film wasn’t bad; however, they thought it wasn’t great either.

They expressed, “On a technical level, F1: THE MOVIE is hugely impressive, especially Claudio Miranda's cinematography and the exhilarating race sequences. But the characters are flat, the dialogue is hokey, and the plot is formulaic as hell. Not a "bad" film but far from a great one.”

Calling out the F1 fans for hating fun, a fourth user stated, “F1 fans really do hate fun, don't they?... Movie was great! Breathtaking cinematography and a corny but very enjoyable plot! Yes, not everything is technically 100% correct, but if F1 fans can leave their technical knowledge at home for 2,5 hours, it's a great ride! Solid 8,7/10.”

Appreciating the director and the actors, a user posted, “F1 The Movie 5/5 One of the greatest and unlikeliest comeback underdog stories in cinema history and the best racing film I’ve ever seen. No one does generational rivalries or high octane action sequences like Kosinski. Pitt and Idris were incredible.”
