DRDO RAC Scientist B: The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) has officially extended the last date for its prestigious DRDO RAC Scientist B Recruitment 2025, providing additional time for eligible candidates to apply.
According to the latest update issued by the Recruitment and Assessment Centre (RAC), the new deadline for submission of online applications is July 18, 2025, up to 4:00 PM IST.The recruitment was initially scheduled to conclude on July 4, 2025. With the revised schedule now in effect, candidates have been granted a two-week extension to apply. However, RAC has categorically stated that the cut-off date for determining the age eligibility remains unchanged at July 4, 2025, and no exceptions will be made in this regard.
DRDO RAC Scientist B: Vacancy details
The recruitment is being conducted under Advertisement No. 156 for a total of 152 Scientist ‘B’ vacancies in various defence research establishments, including:
- 127 positions in DRDO
- 9 positions in Aeronautical Development Agency (ADA)
- 16 encadred positions across the College of Military Engineering (CME), Armed Forces Medical College (AFMC), WESEE (Navy), and military selection centres under Army, Navy, and Air Force headquarters.
These positions are part of the Group ‘A’ Gazetted technical service, offering permanent appointments with immense strategic significance in India’s defence innovation ecosystem.

DRDO RAC B Scientist: Salary and perks
Selected candidates will be inducted at Level-10 of the 7th Central Pay Commission Pay Matrix, with a starting basic pay of ₹56,100 per month. Including allowances such as HRA, the total monthly emoluments are estimated to be approximately ₹1 lakh in metro cities.
While most appointees will join DRDO under the Defence Research & Development Service (DRDS), those selected for encadred posts will serve in respective organisations like WESEE, AFMC, and CME, and will not be transferrable to DRDO establishments.
