Anshula on how Boney Kapoor marrying Sridevi affected her life

Growing up in the spotlight isn’t always glamorous—especially when family dynamics play out in the public eye. Anshula Kapoor, daughter of producer Boney Kapoor, recently opened up about the emotional toll her father’s high-profile marriage to Sridevi had on her childhood.

In a candid conversation, she reflected on the confusion, isolation, and challenges she faced during those formative years.In a chat with Nayandeep Rakshit, Anshula opened up about the emotional challenges she faced as a child after her father Boney Kapoor divorced Mona Shourie and married Sridevi. She recalled how, in the 90s, separation was rare and how families distanced themselves, even discouraging their kids from visiting her home.

This led to a noticeable shift in how her classmates treated her, making school life confusing and emotionally tough.The star daughter further shared that her father Boney Kapoor’s marriage to a public figure like Sridevi made the situation even more difficult, as it drew widespread attention. She admitted that if their lives weren’t so public, coping with the changes might have been easier. Alongside the emotional impact, she also struggled with the absence of her father at home, adding to her confusion and distress as a child.

Boney Kapoor, already married at the time, fell in love with Sridevi and the two secretly tied the knot before making their relationship public. They welcomed daughters Janhvi and Khushi soon after. Years later, following Sridevi’s sudden death in 2018, Anshula and Arjun Kapoor gradually bonded with their half-sisters. Anshula reflected on how the tragedy brought them closer, saying she’s now grateful to have Janhvi and Khushi in her life. She shared that while each of them had their own struggles, they supported one another through the pain. In a past interview, Boney also praised Sridevi for handling the situation with grace and dignity.
