Charkop Police have registered a rape case against actor Ajaz Khan following a complaint by a woman who accused him of sexually assaulting her under the false promise of marriage and film opportunities.

Details of the allegations

As per an IANS report, the complaint alleges that Khan promised the actress a role in his OTT show 'House Arrest' and other projects, assuring her of marriage to gain her trust. According to the woman, Khan raped her at his home on March 25, 2025, and assaulted her again days later, repeatedly promising to marry her and take responsibility. She also said Khan mentioned his religion permits four marriages, using this to justify his actions.
The case has been registered under several sections of the newly enacted Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), including 64, 64(2)(M), 69, and 74, and the police are actively investigating the matter. Statements from both parties and evidence collection are underway as the probe continues.

Ongoing controversy around OTT show 'House Arrest'

This is not the first controversy surrounding Ajaz Khan recently. Earlier, a complaint was lodged by Bajrang Dal activist Gautam Ravriya, who accused the show 'House Arrest' of indecently representing women and broadcasting obscene content. The controversy erupted after a video clip went viral showing Ajaz Khan pressuring contestants, including women, to perform intimate acts and demonstrate sexual positions on camera, which sparked widespread outrage.
Mumbai Police booked Khan, producer Rajkumar Pandey, and others involved under Section 67 of the Information Technology Act, 2000, which penalizes the electronic publication or transmission of obscene material. A first conviction under this section can result in up to three years in jail and a fine of Rs 5 lakh, with repeat offences attracting harsher penalties.

Despite being a TV personality, the actor has appeared in a couple of films as well, such 'Rakta Charitra', 'Allah Ke Banday', 'Dookudu', 'Naayak' and more. He is also expected to make his debut in Gujarati cinema with the film Angaar (2025), where he plays an anti-hero role. He is also working on directing a Hindi web series called 'Bombay Bonds'.
