Former India all-rounder Yuvraj Singh has been appointed as the captain and icon player for the New York Superstar Strikers in the upcoming Legends Cricket Trophy Season 2. The franchise is confident in Yuvraj's leadership and believes his addition will enhance the squad's expertise and skill. The season will feature a unique 90-ball format in Kandy, Sri Lanka.

In a statement, the franchise expressed confidence in Yuvraj's leadership, stating that his addition "enriches the squad with a depth of expertise, skill, and leadership," thereby fortifying the team's readiness for the tournament.

The LCT Season 2 will feature a unique 90-ball format and will take place in Kandy, Sri Lanka, from March 7 to March 18. This format is a departure from the first season, which was played in the traditional 20-over format and was held in Ghaziabad from March 22 to March 30 last year. The inaugural season saw Indore Knights and Guwahati Avengers being declared joint winners after the final match was washed out.

In the LCT90BALLS format, each team will have five bowlers who can bowl three overs each. Additionally, the captain of the bowling team will have the option to choose one bowler to bowl four overs by the 60th ball.
Yuvraj Singh's leadership and experience are expected to play a pivotal role in guiding the New York Superstar Strikers as they prepare to compete in this unique format of the Legends Cricket Trophy.
