Roman Pipko

as the US Ambassador to the

Republic of Estonia

during his second administration.
Trump shared the announcement on his '

Truth Social

' platform.
" I am pleased to announce the nomination of Roman Pipko to serve as the next United States Ambassador to the Republic of Estonia,"

Trump

wrote in his post.

Estonia, which borders Russia, is one of the European nations most outspoken in advocating for the defense of Ukraine against Russia's invasion.
Who is Roman Pipko?
Roman was born and raised in Estonia. A graduate of Columbia University and

Yale Law School

, Roman brings a wealth of international experience to his new role.
He has worked extensively with foreign governments, having represented US interests at the

European Bank for Reconstruction and Development

and the Russian American Enterprise Fund, according to Trump. Roman has also represented American companies and negotiated projects in Mongolia, Africa, Russia, Western Europe, and Estonia, in collaboration with US government agencies. He has also collaborated with foreign governments on implementing US sanctions.
