Earlier this year Ranbir Kapoor came out in public to reveal that his wife, Alia Bhatt, is on very good terms with his mother

. Candidly speaking he said that Alia is more honest with his mother than him. Speaking to Nikhil Kamath, Ranbir felt that Alia is quite keen on relating with his family, a thing Ranbir has not seen much about. He added that though many people go gaga over their family, it's special when the partner, who otherwise begins as a mere outsider, also sends out efforts of being in love. "Even if it's not wholly true initially, the effort is what matters. And to keep that up is never easy," said Ranbir, further detailing how Alia's eagerness to build a rapport with his family has actually made him love her more.
Ranbir further elaborated on the peculiarity of harmony as he wanted the audience to know that both Alia and Neetu had a special bonding. He mentions, "My mother and Alia share a very good relationship. They are very honest with each other, more honest than I am with my mother. This makes me happy." Ranbir, in his personal life, also conceded that the women in his life- mother, sister, wife and now, daughter Raha-makes him happy as they are the best women in the world. Ranbir further spoke about the lock-down period with Alia. During Covid-19 lockdown he described it as an un-expected wonderful time. "It was the best time; I should not say it, but I really had a good time with Alia," he said. The couple stayed together throughout the lockdown and credited their relationship with growing stronger. He also praised Alia for supporting him uninterruptedly when his father, Rishi Kapoor, was battling cancer. Alia has stood by him in those challenging moments and even accompanied him to the hospital in America. "She has really done a lot for me," he further added, reflecting on her care and support.
The bond forged with his girlfriend during that phase will soon be brought onto the screen as he appears with her in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's 'Love And War' opposite Vicky Kaushal.
