Over three months after his confirmed death, unseen footage of Hamas chief Yahya Sinwar allegedly directing operations during the

Gaza war

was aired on Friday by Al Jazeera.
The video shows Sinwar walking in the

Rafah

area, clad in military outfit and using a stick, with a grey blanket covering his body.
In one clip, Sinwar is seen in a residential apartment wearing a polo shirt and black watch, kneeling alongside another man over a map.

The other segment highlights graffiti of the Hebrew word "north" on a wall where Sinwar briefly stayed, suggesting prior operations by Israeli forces in that location.
Sinwar, a key architect of the

October 7 attacks

on Israel, was killed on October 16 during a firefight in Rafah. His body was later identified using DNA, dental records, and fingerprints.

The October 7 attacks, led by Hamas, resulted in the deaths of 1,200 people and the capture of 251 hostages, including civilians, according to The Times of Israel.
As the situation worsened, the war in Gaza led to over 46,000 reported deaths.
