Virat Kohli’s recent social media activity unexpectedly sparked a wave of online discussions after users noticed that the star cricketer had liked a post from a fan account dedicated to actress Avneet Kaur. The action, which quickly gained traction, drew varied responses. Many social media users reacted with humour, mentioning Kohli’s wife, actress Anushka Sharma.

Amidst the online frenzy, Virat has not initially shared a clarification on his Instagram. Screenshots of Virat liking the post went viral on X (formerly Twitter) and Instagram. Seeking to quell the growing speculation, Kohli took to Instagram Stories to clarify his stance.

He wrote: “I'd like to clarify that while clearing my feed, it appears the algorithm may have mistakenly registered an interaction. There was absolutely no intent behind it. I request that no unnecessary assumptions be made. Thank you for your understanding.”
Kohli refrained from naming either the actress or the fan page, keeping his message focused on dispelling speculation without adding further fuel to the incident. After the incident, the like has been removed by the cricketer.
Kohli recently celebrated his wife Anushka’s birthday with a heartfelt social media post. The couple, who tied the knot in 2017, welcomed their second child, Akaay, in February last year. They are reportedly based in London at present, opting for a quieter life abroad to raise their children, Vamika and Akaay, in a more private environment.
On the professional front, Kohli remains a key player in the ongoing 2025 season of the Indian Premier League. Representing Royal Challengers Bengaluru, his team has shown strong form this year, securing seven wins from ten matches.
