Jaipur: A spat over getting a chair at a tea stall took an ugly turn when a 50-year-old farmer was beaten to death at least by six assailants at Arnia Neeel village under Mehandwas police station area of Tonk district. The deceased has been identified as Gopal Gurjarfarmer. He was beaten late on Sunday evening and he succumbed to the injuries on Monday when the police have registered a case of murder against unknown assailants. According to the police, Gurjar along with his relative Bharat Raj Gurjar had gone to a roadside tea stall at 9 pm on Sunday. "While they were chatting some people tried to pick an empty chair kept near them however Gopal told them not to take the chair as somebody else from their village was coming this triggered a verbal spat between Gopal and other persons. At least five to six people attacked Gopal with iron rods and batons. He was seriously injured and rushed to the hospital. He sustained multiple injuries on his body and during treatment succumbed to the injuries on Monday." said Devendra Singh station house officer Mehandwas police station.
