Thunderbolts* eyes opening weekend between US$ 73 Million to US$ 77 Million

The much-anticipated superhero film Thunderbolts* is eyeing a promising domestic opening weekend in the range of US$ 73 million to US$ 77 million, after collecting an amazing US $ 31.5 million on Friday which includes US $ 11.5 million from Thursday evening previews alone.
Led by Florence Pugh and Sebastian Stan, Thunderbolts* marks an important moment for the

Marvel Cinematic Universe

(MCU) as it attempts to revive audience interest in the universe after Avengers Endgame. The film spotlighst lesser-known comic book characters. Directed by Jake Schreier, the film assembles a group of unconventional heroes — or rather, anti-heroes — who come together under unusual circumstances and slowly discover their potential to work as a team.
The star-studded cast also features Wyatt Russell as John Walker, David Harbour reprising his role as Red Guardian, Lewis Pullman, Hannah John-Kamen as Ghost, Olga Kurylenko as Taskmaster, and Julia Louis-Dreyfus as CIA director Valentina Allegra de Fontaine.

As per a report by The Hollywood Reporter the film has received a positive response from the fans. On Rotten Tomatoes, it has received a 95 percent audience score — tying it with Spider-Man: Far From Home for the third-highest audience score in MCU history, behind only Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings (98 percent) and Spider-Man: No Way Home (97 percent).
Made on a reported USD 180 million production budget (excluding marketing), Thunderbolts* is seen as a pivotal release for Marvel, both as a summer box office player and as a test case for introducing new characters into its sprawling cinematic universe. With critics and audiences largely on board, the film looks poised to give Marvel another major win as it storms through its opening weekend.
In India which is generally a huge market for Marvel films- Thunderbolts* has had a very muted run as the film has managed to earn only Rs 8.07 crore in the first three days and is expected to end the weekend at Rs 11 to Rs 12 crore.
