There were concerns about Ananya and my pairing - Vihaan

After debuting in 2019 with Student of the Year 2, Ananya Panday is stepping into the OTT space with her first web series,

Call Me Bae

, produced by

Karan Johar’s production house

. In the show, Ananya portrays a wealthy girl who marries an even wealthier man, played by Vihaan Samat, known for his roles in Mismatched, Eternally Confused and Eager for Love. However, this is not their first project together, Ananya and Vihaan would be seen together in Vikramaditya Motwane’s

CTRL

, which is slated to release on October 4th.

In an exclusive interview with ETimes, Vihaan shared that during his casting for Call Me Bae, there was a minor glitch. He said , “There was a talk about me doing two projects at the same time with Ananya, and if that would have been an issue.”
Explaining the situation Collin D’Cunha, director of Call Me Bae said, “ I thought I had cracked it, Ananya and Vihaan… What a Pair!!! I thought this is the best casting I’ve done. Cut to, when I was told they are doing a film together . But I’m very excited about CTRL.”

Vihaan shared that he worked with Ananya first on CTRL, and then came on the show, and stated that it was easy to work with her. He said, " There was familiarity, so it was easier to work as we had worked together on a film.. But the job is still difficult , it's a whole new character, a whole new experience , it a different tone, it's a different vibe , different camera angles also.”
