. This actress, who was working alongside the oh-so-famous and legendary Rekha, could not succeed in the film world.
She had made her debut in the popular Hindi film titled ‘Lajja’. This was also produced and directed by Rajkumar Santoshi. The film’s entire star cast, not just Rekha, was filled with powerhouses that we know and love to this day. The actress was cast along with Rekha, Madhuri Dixit, Mahima Chaudhary, Sonali Bendre, Jackie Shroff, Ajay Devgan and Gulshan Grover.
During one of the scenes in the movie, Rekha’s character had to repeatedly slap Aarti’s character on screen. While the scene was part of the script, Aarti was completely unaware of this till the moment it was being shot. Due to not being aware of the shot and being surprised, the actress was left in tears, which only stopped after Rekha and the director/producer of the film calmed her down and explained everything to her.
