SRK death threat: Police arrest lawyer from Raipur

The Mumbai Police on Tuesday arrested a lawyer from Chhattisgarh's capital Raipur in connection with a death threat issued to Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan last week, an official confirmed. On November 7, the Mumbai police visited Raipur for its investigation in the case and summoned Faizan Khan, a lawyer by profession, for questioning in connection with the case.
Raipur's Senior Superintendent of Police Santosh Singh told PTI in a statement, "The Mumbai police on Tuesday morning informed their Raipur counterparts that they have arrested Faizan Khan from Pandri police station area here as a part of their probe into a threat call to Shah Rukh Khan."
"As per preliminary information, the threat call to the actor was made by a phone number registered in the name of Faizan," he said.

During questioning, the lawyer told the police that he had lost his phone and lodged a complaint in this connection at Khamardih police station here November 2, he said.
"The Mumbai police will produce Faizan in a Raipur court seeking his transit remand," Singh said.
The accused will be brought to Mumbai for further investigation following a case filed by the Bandra police under sections 308(4) (extortion involving threats of death or serious injury) and 351(3)(4) (criminal intimidation) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).

More details regarding the suspect have not been disclosed yet.
Last week, the Mumbai Police received a call threatening Shah Rukh at the Bandra station. The caller even demanded Rs 50 lakh, following which the police registered a case and dispatched a team to Raipur for further investigation.
The threat to Shah Rukh follows a series of threats issued to fellow friend and Bollywood star Salman Khan, allegedly from the

Lawrence Bishnoi gang

. The Mumbai Traffic Control room received a threat message for Salman late Thursday night. The reported gang members even threatened to kill a songwriter who penned a track on Lawrence Bishnoi in one month's time.

The message also had that the “songwriter’s condition will be so bad that he won't be able to write songs by his own name. If Salman Khan has the courage then he should save him.”
The police are looking out for the person and are tracing the number.
Both actors have been surrounded by tight security for a while now. Salman was upgraded to Y+ security especially after a firing incident outside his residence in April this year.
