Sonu Sood landed in a tough spot after a video showing him riding a motorcycle without a helmet sparked criticism. The Spiti police noticed the clip and announced on X (formerly Twitter) that they would investigate and decide on the necessary steps.
To address the issue, Sood posted a follow-up video from Spiti, this time wearing a helmet while riding.
The actor clarifies
The actor addressed the controversy by posting a video on his Instagram Stories, clarifying the situation. He wrote, “Safety first, we always abide by the laws, an old clip without the helmet was part of the script, so kindly ignore. Ride safe, ride smart and always wear a helmet.” The video shows him riding through the valley alongside his team in a series of clips.
The footage appears to be from an earlier time, which the Spiti police confirmed, stating, “According to preliminary information, the video appears to be from the year 2023.
The task of investigating the authenticity has been handed over to DySP Headquarters, Kyelang.”
Public reaction and calls for responsibility
Sood is now facing significant criticism after a video surfaced that contradicts his public persona. Aside from sharing the video and its caption on Instagram, he has not released any formal comments on the matter.
Fans have voiced their disappointment and demanded responsibility. One concerned user on X questioned, “So will @himachalpolice take any action on @SonuSood for riding naked without a helmet in Spiti? No protective gear, no clothes—God knows what he’s trying to promote.
Are celebrities above the law?”
