Samantha Ruth Prabhu

's talent, beauty, and charisma have made her one of the most sought-after actresses in the Indian film industry. Her dedication to her craft, versatility in roles, and commitment to social causes have earned her a special place in the hearts of her fans. She recently went down the memory lane to talk about her

modelling

days and why she hates watching her initial work.

Talking about her journey from modeling to acting, Samantha told Harper’s Bazaar India that she did dabble in modelling in the initial stages of my career, during college and for a little time after, but the focus was always on education.
Just like every Indian household, she also believed that the route to success is through education. So she felt she needed to study which wasn't so hard because she loved studying. She was one of the students who would wake up at 4 am, ready to revise for the hundredth time on an exam day. Her mother would tell her to take it a little easy. So acting was never an option for her.

then revealed that modelling came at a time when things were not easy at home, because of which she couldn't study further. She was clueless and at a low point in her life with no plan. But modelling gave her a plan and purpose, a goal.
She said that as far as being in front of the camera goes, she doesn't use anything from her modelling days otherwise she would have been an absolute disaster. "I was bad at it when I started out. I sometimes, actually almost always, cringe or run to change the channel when something of mine is playing on the TV because it’s so

embarrassing

that I was so bad at it,” she added.

The

actress

also talked about taking a

break

from acting and prioritising experiencing life a little after she was diagnosed with myositis, an autoimmune disease, last year. She also talked about running the never ending race where no one knows who's winning because you always run behind bigger blockbusters and another best actor award.
She feels really glad that she has made that switch, living in the moment, and getting time to spend with people she loves. Taking this break also proved a point to herself that she is not looking for external validation. She feels that experiences are the best teachers and they show in your performance and she knows that this is only going to make her a better actor.
