Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone reunite as fellow cops in
Singham Again
, but director Rohit Shetty chose not to include their signature banter.
In a conversation with News 18, Rohit explained that while he considered adding a fun scene between Ranveer and Deepika, he chose not to for the sake of maintaining the tone of their roles. He noted that since Ranveer's character was inspired by Hanuman ji, it could have gone off-track. Though there’s playful banter between Ranveer and Akshay Kumar, Shetty felt it wouldn’t have worked the same with Deepika's character.
The filmmaker thoughtfully avoided using songs in Singham Again to maintain the film's tone, opting instead for background music. The film incorporates elements from the Ramayana in a way that respects religious sentiments, setting a new standard for modern retellings of epics. The decision paid off as the film crossed the Rs 200 crore milestone.
In Singham Again, Ranveer Singh returns as ACP Sangram Bhalerao, a role he first played in Simmba (2018), while Deepika Padukone is introduced as DCP Shakti Shetty. The film, led by Ajay Devgn as DCP Bajirao Singham, also stars Kareena Kapoor Khan, Arjun Kapoor, Tiger Shroff, and Akshay Kumar.
