ETimes had the privilege to engage in a conversation with the director, extending congratulations and exploring his overall experience of receiving the award.
The elated director fondly reminisced about approaching Esha Deol with the script, stating, "When I narrated the story to Esha, she was extremely enthusiastic and immediately assured me that she will not only act in this film but will also debut as a producer with it." He further shared that the film, shedding light on the social issue of female foeticide, evoked a particularly emotional response from Hema Malini, who, as a mother of two daughters, was deeply moved and teary-eyed after watching it. "As a mother to two daughters, Hema Malini was deeply moved after listening to 'Ek Duaa'," recalled Ram.
He also expressed his gratitude for the film being honoured with such a prestigious award.

Reflecting on Hema Malini's 75th birthday today, the director expressed mixed emotions. "I am happy that I am here in Delhi to receive the award but also disappointed as I am not with Hema ji on her birthday. I have never missed her birthdays. Hema ji said, 'Award leke aana' and also assured to have another small celebration for the win," he shared.
The National Award ceremony is anticipated to be a significant event, acknowledging excellence across diverse fields, including film, music, literature, and more.
