Rohit Shetty made the announcement regarding Deepika's involvement in the

Singham

and cop universe during the promotions of his film 'Cirkus' last year. He stated, "We are working on 'Singham' next. Many people have been asking me about the female cop in my universe. So, today, I'm happy to confirm that Deepika Padukone will be the lady Singham, the female cop in 'Singham 3.' We'll begin shooting next year."
