Pedro Pascal finds his doppelganger in NYC dad at look-alike contest; spitting resemblance leaves netizens stunned - Pics

A Pedro Pascal look-alike contest held on the streets of Manhattan’s Lower East Side left fans in awe after a Brooklyn dad who emerged as the spitting image of the Last of Us star.George Gountas, who was Pedro Contestant #5, was crowned the winner among nearly 30 contestants who braved the weather to compete outside a Mexican eatery that hosted the quirky Father’s Day celebration.According to The NYPost, Gountas was forced to participate in the competition by his wife Jenny Gania, who took note of his resemblance to the actor when they were watching the hit series 'Game of Thrones'. She wasn't the only one to spot the similarity between her hubby and the actor. “Then some kids started noting it, too… When we saw this contest, I said, ‘It’s Father’s Day. You have to go. It’s going to be your Father’s Day treat,” Jenny told the portal.

Gountas ended up walking away from the competition with $50 and a year’s supply of burritos. While the lookalike is not on social media, his wife is now confident that he will become popular after the internet gets to see his resemblance to television's favourite 'dad'. Much to her prediction, several fans took to their handles to share the photos from the contest and marvel at the men who turned up and commended them for their striking appearances.

Take a look at some tweets below:

The event was inspired in part by Pascal’s own remarks last year, when he claimed that “there’s no good Mexican food in New York.” Co-owner and chef Annisha Garcia said the contest was a playful way to prove otherwise. “I’m like, ‘So sorry, but there’s no good Mexican food in New York?’ And we were like, ‘There is, and we are here,’” Garcia said. The Pedro Pascal look-alike contest follows a similar viral moment in October when Timothee Chalamet fans gathered for a doppelganger event in Madison Square Park and were surprised when the actor himself showed up. The lookalike later even got to walk the red carpet at the 2025 Oscars.
