Paper leak: Minister rules out CBI probe, says daily monitoring on

Jaipur Parliamentary Affairs Minister Shanti Dhariwal ruled out a CBI inquiry into the paper leak case, claiming that "speedy investigation is being done besides day-to-day monitoring." He was making a statement in the assembly on the status of the investigation into the leaks, after a heated discussion on Tuesday. "What will happen if this matter is given to the CBI? The investigation will continue for 8 years and all the documents will be taken by the agency. The recruitment examinations will be held up for 15 years. The future of students will be spoiled," he said. He said on the doubt of BJP leaders over the investigation: "The high court in the Reet 2020 paper leak case on an AbVP petition expressed its satisfaction over SOG investigation and the case is still open and anybody could approach the court if they have proof of any coverup. From 2019 to 2022, 15 cases were registered and 281 persons arrested. In contrast, 19 such cases were registered from 2014 to 2018, in which 241 persons were arrested. Accusing the BJP of not being serious about paper leaks during their time, he claimed that culprits will be given the strictest punishment on the provision of designated courts for the trial of paper leak cases.
