NIFT counselling 2025 round 1 opening, closing ranks released for UG and PG admissions: Check campus-wise ranks here

The National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) has announced the opening and closing ranks for Round 1 of its 2025 counselling process. This is important information for students who applied for BDes and MDes courses.

The Round 1 seat allotment was declared on July 7, 2025, and selected candidates have time till July 10 to confirm their seats by paying the admission fee and choosing one of the three options: floating, sliding, or freezing. As expected, NIFT Delhi and Mumbai are the top choices for BDes in Fashion Design. Delhi opened at rank 8 and closed at 86, while Mumbai ranged from 16 to 141. Students now look forward to Round 2 counselling, NRI seat allotments, and further admissions updates.

What’s coming up next?

The next phase of the NIFT 2025 admission process begins on July 12, when registration opens for NRI and sponsor category seats. Following that, from July 14 to 16, students who are not satisfied with their current allotment can modify their choices for Round 2 of counselling. Once this window closes, the Round 2 seat allotment results will be declared, most likely in the days following July 16.

For students who still don’t get a seat or want to try again, spot rounds may be conducted in August if any seats remain vacant after the regular counselling rounds. Students are advised to keep checking the official NIFT website for updates and important announcements.
