NEET PG Counselling 2024: The
Medical Counselling Committee
(MCC) is set to fill 24,314 seats in the third round of NEET PG 2024 counselling. This includes 15,902 seats from the virtual round, 8,313 seats from the clear vacancy round, and 999 newly added seats, following a reduction in the cut-off scores.
Candidates have until 8 am on January 16, 2025, to complete their choice filling in order of preference. The MCC revised the counselling schedule to accommodate more aspirants after lowering the cut-off scores, ensuring that PG medical seats across the country remain filled.
Seat allotment processing
will occur between January 16 and 17, with candidates required to report and join their allotted colleges between January 18 and 25.
NEET PG round 3 updated seat matrix
The registration window for NEET PG round 3 will close today at 12 noon. Candidates will be able to fill their choices until 8 am on January 16, 2025. The
choice-locking facility
will open at 8 pm today and remain accessible until the deadline.
The MCC has announced 15,902
virtual vacancies
, which refer to seats temporarily vacant after candidates from round 2 chose to update or vacate their allotments. Additionally, 99 new seats have been added for round 3 in various states including Andhra Pradesh, Bihar, Gujarat, Jharkhand, Karnataka, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Punjab, Odisha, Puducherry, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, and West Bengal.
A total of 8,313 clear vacancies have also been made available. Clear vacancies refer to seats that were not allotted in the previous round.
In response to this, the MCC has lowered the NEET PG 2024 cut-off for general category candidates to the 15th percentile. Candidates in the SC, ST, and PwD categories are eligible with a cut-off of the 10th percentile. Those who meet the revised cut-off must complete the counselling process before the deadline.
