US secretary of state Marco Rubio with Donald Trump
The
Trump cabinet
burst out laughing when
secretary of state
Marco Rubio joked with Tootsie Roll and said that because of Robert F Kennedy, Jr, US department of health and human Services, he is afraid to eat anything.
While talking about his first 100 days in the
Trump administration
, Marco Rubio said, "Everyone around this table at some level. And because of Secretary Kennedy, I'm afraid to eat anything. So in front of him, he said, Tootsie Rolls are okay in moderation, but it's a great team."
"And here's the second and I tell this to people all the time. This is incredibly rewarding service. And you hear it in everyone's voices, traditionally in the past. And that's one of the problems we got in as a country, is presidents would, okay, let's go do something. And then they would have to do a study, and then a study on the study, and then a long internal deliberative process. And by the time you got to it, it was too late, or somebody had forgotten it. In this administration, it's moving. You know the direction because you know why you were elected," he added.
Marco Rubio has recently started handling another responsibility on his shoulder as Trump announced his as the interim national security advisor.
"When I have a problem, I call up Marco," Trump told his crowd, gesturing toward Secretary of State Marco Rubio. "He gets it solved."
The distinguished officials gathered for the president's event were unaware that Trump had recently been consulting his chief diplomat about a pressing issue: his growing distrust of national security adviser Mike Waltz, who had also lost credibility amongst the West Wing staff.
