Pakistan vs England Live Score 2nd Test, Day 1: With the game to be played on the same pitch that was used for the first Test, Pakistan captain Shan Masood had no hesitation in opting to bat first after winning the toss, as England welcome the return of their Test skipper and star allrounder Ben Stokes.
Pakistan had lost the first Test in an embarrassing fashion, despite having scored more than 500 runs in their first innings and still going on to lose by an innings in the end to concede 1-0 lead to England.
PITCH REPORT - Michael Atherton is near the deck. He notes that the ground staff watered the surface two days ago and utilized two large fans at both ends to speed up the drying process. Atherton also mentions that the pitch was left open to dry yesterday, resulting in some cracks appearing, though they remain firm. He expects the pitch to play well for the first day or two.
First time that a back-to-back Test is being played at the same stadium on exactly the same pitch. It's the same strip that used for the first Test match. What has the groundsmen been doing to try and bring this pitch back to life? A couple of days, he watered it, rolled it and had two giant fans drying the pitch from either end plus the hot sun.
