Why is the choice of colour important?
The colour of our clothing worn on Karwa Chauth is important as each shade symbolises different emotions and aspirations, and it is a way for married women to express their love and devotion to their husbands and pray for their long and healthy life. Let’s see which colours women should and shouldn’t wear on Karwa Chauth.
AVOID Black colour
Black is mainly considered an inauspicious colour during festivities and is associated with darkness, death, negativity, and mourning.
AVOID White colour
According to Hinduism, white is considered the shade of mourning, loss, and sadness, and therefore should not be associated with Karwa Chauth which is an auspicious day.
AVOID Blue colour
You can wear brighter shades of blue with heavy embellishment and shine on Karwa Chauth, but avoid the darker shades of blue which are known to attract negativity.
AVOID Brown colour
Brown with golden can be an ideal pick for this day, but avoid wearing this shade on Karwa Chauth as it is related to malefic Rahu and Ketu planets and attracts negative energy.
AVOID Grey colour
Grey is considered to be a dull and inauspicious colour and should be avoided during festive times. Therefore, Karwa Chauth also ignores wearing this dull shade and opts for brighter and more vibrant colours.
