Kabir Khan, who kick-started Salman Khan's popular Tiger franchise with '
Ek Tha Tiger
' in 2012, recently opened up about not being a part of the upcoming third instalment of the movie.
In an interview with News18, Kabir Khan revealed that he is super excited for '
Tiger 3
'. The filmmaker said that there is always a sense of being a part of the endeavour as he created Tiger with Ek Tha Tiger (2012) so there is a special connection with this franchise.
He added that it has been more than a decade and he has been super proud of it.
Elaborating further, Kabir added that 'Tiger 3' is releasing soon and despite it not being his film, he is still super nervous as he is really curious to know what the story will be all about. According to him, he is waiting for it to release and he plans to see it only on the big screen cheering and whistling with the audience. The director added that Yash Raj Films is like home for him and he is keeping his fingers crossed and wishing all the success to the entire team.
Kabir also went on to say that while he was shooting for 'Ek Tha Tiger', there were no plans of coming up with a spy universe. According to him, Aditya Chopra is a visionary filmmaker and likes to keep his cards close to his chest so maybe he must have some idea but they never discussed it as such. He also feels that the whole ‘universe’ concept started only a few years back that too in Hollywood so he doesn't think the concept existed when they were shooting the film. But nonetheless he is excited for the YRF Spyverse. According to him, both Tiger and Zoya’s character are iconic now.
'Tiger 3' has been helmed by
Maneesh Sharma
and also stars Katrina Kaif and
Emraan Hashmi
in lead roles. The film will hit the theatres on November 10, 2023.
