was attacked by a man in Shenzhen, southern China's Guangdong Province, on Wednesday morning, Kyodo News reported.
The student, who was on his way to school, was assaulted by a man before being taken to hospital for treatment. Local authorities have detained the suspect for questioning, according to Japanese government spokesman Hiroshi Moriya.
