Italian tourist escapes NYC house of horror where crypto investor tortured him with a chainsaw for password

Crypto investor John Woeltz was arrested from his NYC pad where he tortured an Italian tourist for weeks.

A 28-year-old Italian tourist who came to New York was held captive in a posh Manhattan apartment where he was given electric shock, forced to take cocaine and threatened to have his limbs cut off with an electric chainsaw.

All this started from a crypto argument and the host, 37-year-old John Woeltz, a crypto investor wanted to get the password from the accounts of the tourist. The tourist and Woeltz knew each other from previous business deals and the Italian came to New York to meet him.According to the New York Post report, the tourist managed to break out of the house of horrors and ran to a police officer and said he had been held captive for more than two weeks.

His passport was also taken from him.

Polaroid pictures of the victim being tortured

While the bruised man was sent to Bellevue Hospital for treatment, the cops arrested Woeltz and found that there was a torture chamber created in the flat. There were evidence of torture and some were even photographed as police found many Polaroid photos of the victim being tied up and tortured. His torture was documented as a means of extortion. The victim also had a wound on his arm, which police believed was caused by the chainsaw.

The victim told the police that he managed to escape the horror house as he believed he would have been killed Friday. Local vendors said some crypto guys recently moved in and they used to give weird vibe. A jewelry vendor told the New York Post that he assumed they were just shooting porn."He looked like a decent guy," one resident told Fox 5 describing Woeltz. "He just looked like a rich guy in a nice bathrobe, clean-shaven, hair was done. It didn’t look like police had a problem arresting him."
