'Is she OK': Scotty McCreery halts concert to address assault on woman in crowd

on the night of August 24 after witnessing a man allegedly

assault

woman

in the audience. The

North Carolina

native paused the performance for more than two minutes during the introduction of his hit song, "It Matters To Her."
"Right here, that’s a lady you just hit, sir," McCreery, 30, can be heard saying in the video, which has circulated on social media.

The crowd responded with audible gasps as McCreery called for action from

security

and the police. “Absolutely not, you just hit the lady. Police? Security? Is she OK? Get the heck out of here,” he continued.
The authorities and crowd worked to address the situation, according to media reports.
'Absolutely unacceptable'

The singer expressed his disbelief, stating, “On God’s green earth. At a Scotty McCreery show? What are you doing?” He urged the crowd to identify the alleged assailant and called the behavior “absolutely unacceptable.”

Colorado State Fair officials confirmed the

incident

occurred during McCreery’s set but have not released the name of the man involved or disclosed whether he was arrested. “This incident is still under investigation and we cannot comment further,” the officials added.
The motive behind the reported assault was not immediately known, according to media reports.
