Pop star Harry Styles was spotted among the huge crowds at St. Peter’s Basilica on May 8, during the official inauguration of
Pope Leo XIV
, the newly elected pontiff and the first American to assume the role. The former
One Direction
star managed to keep a low profile as thousands gathered to witness the Pope’s first public address following the conclusion of a two-day conclave.
Styles appeared to blend in with the crowd with his grey cap, dark sunglasses and jacket. The star almost went about unnoticed untill a fan posted a photo of him online that soon went viral. The photo saw him walking against the crowds, presumably heading out after the completion of the ceremony. Reactions that poured in on social media ranged from amused to bewildered, with some saying, "Harry Styles is so random. One day he’s winning Album of the Year at the Grammys, the next he’s in
Rome
waiting for the new Pope.”
"Harry Styles in Italy is something surreal," said another.
The hunk's spotting has reignited speculation around his time in Italy.
Harry
made headlines weeks earlier, he was seen in Rome with Valentino’s creative director Alessandro Michele. He was even spotted running the marathon and casually spending time travelling solo in and around Europe.
