Umran Malik
has fully recovered from dengue and is now focusing on preparing for the upcoming
Duleep Trophy
, scheduled to begin on September 5. Having been sidelined due to the illness, Umran has joined the
National Cricket Academy
(
NCA
) in Bengaluru to get ready for the domestic season.
"I am feeling better and now I am fully focused on the preparation of the Duleep Trophy at NCA.
I hope I will be doing good in this season for my team," Umran told ANI, expressing his relief and optimism.
Umran Malik made his international debut for India in 2022. He has since played 10 One Day Internationals (ODIs) and eight Twenty20 Internationals (T20Is), taking 13 and 11 wickets respectively.
The Duleep Trophy marks the start of the
red-ball cricket
season in India. It features some of the top international stars and emerging talents from the country. This tournament provides a platform for players like Umran to showcase their skills ahead of the international season.
Scheduled to begin on September 5, 2024, the matches will take place at the Anantapur Cricket Stadium in Andhra Pradesh and the
M Chinnaswamy Stadium
in Bengaluru.
