A couple’s car, while they were engaged in an intimate moment, accidentally rolled into a nearby river in
Pennsylvania
on Wednesday morning.
The incident took place around 4:45 am in
Philadelphia
, where the couple had parked their white SUV in
Fairmount Park
along
Kelly Drive
, which runs parallel to the
Schuylkill River
.
Philadelphia police
said that the couple were in a passionate embrace in the back seat when the woman accidentally kicked the gear shift.
The car started to roll, and before the distracted couple could respond, it slid into the river, according to NBC 10.
The couple escaped unharmed but experienced embarrassment and damage to their vehicle, according to media reports. Police recovered the couple's 2020 Range Rover from the water a few hours later, around 9 am.
Philadelphia police have said that no charges will be filed against the couple.
In a prior incident, a car rolled backward into the Schuylkill River from Kelly Drive. The vehicle abruptly stopped before reversing into the water. A witness, who was fishing at the river’s edge, tried to help but couldn't reach the car due to their waders filling with water. When police arrived, divers searched the car but found it empty, with all doors locked and a window open.
