The Megalopolis trailer opens with a montage of Coppola’s earlier, critically panned films, setting the stage for a voiceover that introduces the director’s new vision.

“One filmmaker has always been ahead of his time,” the voiceover declares, highlighting Coppola’s innovative approach with this film.
In the Megalopolis trailer, Adam Driver plays an architect with the power to stop time, striving to build a utopian city free of corruption. Coppola reportedly spent decades trying to bring Megalopolis to life, investing $120 million of his own money into the magnum opus. The film premiered at the Cannes Film Festival earlier this year, where it received mixed reviews but was met with a seven-minute standing ovation.
